Friday Random Ten

Ah, Friday. Time to take a break from the new gig at GNB, putter around the house, dream up something marvelous to cook and in general, celebrate indolence.

Soundtrack:

Nocturne in Cm - - - Chopin
Greasy Greens - - - Pink Anderson
Wimoweh - - - The Weavers
Under The Boardwalk - - - The Drifters
Born At The Right Time - - - Paul Simon
Juanita - - - Gram Parsons
Great Big Idol With the Golden Head - - - David Bromberg
This is a Rebel Song - - - Sinead O'connor
If I Should Fall From Grace With God - - - Flogging Molly (live bootleg, me sitting in on guitar)
You Came a Long Way From St. Louis - - - Rosie Clooney

Bonus (playing right now)

She's a Bad Mama Jama (She's built, She's Stacked) - - - Carl Carlton

That's an eclectic playlist!

Being a bit anal here, but can I offer a correction to the words of The Foggy Dew, quoted by you here http://www.bigbrassblog.com/index.php?itemid=693

It should be "Britannia's *Huns* with their long-range guns". The reference is to the gunships that sailed up the Liffey to bomb the GPO during the 1916 Rising, and the 'Huns' reference turns back a British propaganda term on its originators.

not everyone. i've never played with any boy bands, or britney spears.

i've complained to my agent many times about that. he should get off his ass and get me the britney gig i deserve.

I attended one year of high school with Gram Parsons. He was a couple of years older than me but I had such a crush on him.

Dear MB,

It is not your standing which would benefit by a gig with Britney. As for the boy bands, it is a funny though, but you'd blow them away, and it would be too cruel.
