Duck, Duck, Goose, Heron

In the continuing "View From My Porch" series we have this one that I just now took. I was on the porch putting some truffle ganache in to set and I saw these ducks, the Mexican Black Face Goose (which apparently decided not to continue on north to Montana this year) and the Great Blue Heron.

They graciously held their positions while I put the ganache up and fetched the camera.

Thanks birds. You're much more fun than politics.

Probably heard about gas prices.

Lovely picture of serenity and co-existence.

One or two houses down from me I hear a pair of baby goats. Way more fun than the amateur drummer Keith Moon-wannabe behind us.

konagod,

I am experiencing the same thing with a neighbor drummer who also fancies he has a plaintive blues yowl. In fact, it is just a grating yowl. He is a great pudgy white boy who shouldn't even be trying, but as his live-in is a lovely black girl, he may feel it incumbent to at least try.

At such times I think how ill-fitted humans are for a life on a lovely planet. I guess the argument is that he is aspiring to make music. But gawd, it falls far short. Thank God for earplugs.
