Friday Random Ten

The morning is shaping up nicely. Abbie is going to the groomer's, she will forgive me by tomorrow. I have some porch furniture to paint. Strawberry ice cream to freeze. Salmon to poach, asparagus to grill and top with hollandaise.

Here's the morning's soundtrack:

Lover's Prayer - - - Randy Newman
Stay a Little Longer - - - Emmylou Harris (live bootleg, me on guitar and ragged bass vocals)
Corrina, Corrina - - - Taj Mahal
Myth of Fingerprints - - - Paul Simon
Shattered Dreams - - - Johnny Hates Jazz
Living on a Thin Line - - - Kinks
While You See a Chance - - - Stevie Winwood
Waist Deep In The Big Muddy - - - Pete Seger
Leave Her Johnny, Leave Her - - - Stan Rogers
No Diamonds In The Mine - - - Leonard Cohen

Bonus - - -

Real Good Looking Boy - - - The Who

What's your soundtrack?

UPDATE

there's a great verse in the stan rogers song. it's a long haul chanty about pulling into harbor after a suck ass trip on a crappy boat. it reminds me of the bush administration:

The Skipper's bad
The mate is worse

Leave her Johnny, Leave Her!

He'll blow you down with a spike
and a curse.

And it's time for us to leave her

It's time for us to leave these guys. High time.

I'm in a Janis Joplin state of mind today. Yeah, Janis will do just fine...

I am pretty sure that I saw Stan Rogers' last show. I think he was flying home from the Kerrrville Folk Festival when the plane crashed.
