There were other ones that draw undeniable parallels to what's going on in Iraq right now, but I like this one. It's just Pete. There even some good pictures of his hands where you players out there can steal some chords.

Thanks MB I love Pete Seeger. He is a National Treasure.

mb, I imagine that trip through the PACNW was indeed one of those don't miss, don't repeat ones. I always thought of Jerry Jeff as a fairly big deal, so it's hard for me to get my mind around him doing HS assemblies in the 80's after I saw him at a near sold out Foster auditorium, at least a couple or 3 thousand fans. He appeared to be pretty well on his way to a good drunk that night, too, but I kind of expected that with him. But as you know, drunk don't make his music bad - it was a great show. BTW, the lyrics I posted that were textual rather than linked were from "The Pot Can't Call the Kettle Black" another JJW song I liked a bunch.
pogo,
word has it that Jerry Jeff doesn't drink any more and is sort of a health nut. Jerry Jeff's demons seem to have been put to rest. His son Django Walker has taken over the traveling reins. But I am sure that if someone called he would get the band together....

i'm glad to hear that about jerry jeff. it seems that most of the musicians i meet that are my age are in recovery or waiting on a list for a liver, or both. the "we're on a mission from god" tack would work on me. it always does. can't not help the penguins get some money for the kids. if i wasn't a sucker for stuff like that i couldn't live with myself.
