Pete Seeger is a hero. He is passionate, overflowing with courage, and usually right.
Land of song say the Warrior Bards Though all the world betrays thee. One sword, at least, Thy Rights Shall Guard, And one faithful harp shall praise Thee.

Can't watch the Seeger clip, but you're right about him.
I assume you heard that Yosses, the author of Desserts for Dummies is the new White House Pastry Chef? Being a dessert chef (well, truffle chef) yourself, I thought you would find that choice particularly apt.
Go back and checkout my Easy Street post. Ever play Tuscaloosa,AL with Jerry Jeff in the 70's?

Like you, I'm 57, so this almost made me cry.
thanks for that one pogo. that's the one i was looking for. i played with jerry jeff in the very early 80's and only out west. we did one trip where we had jerry jeff's cadillac, a u-haul and were the band, crew, the whole shebang. we went through oregon, eastern washington, idaho, and all those places, fighting over whose turn it was to drive (jerry jeff would take himself out of the argument by being to drunk to walk much less drive) and stuff. we played high school assemblies in the afternoons and roadhouses at night. it's one of those things you wouldn't want to miss OR repeat.
As I said at another site, I need to come from under my rock more often. I had not heard this song until today. God, could it be more perfect?
