I miss the late 60s.
Sounds like the average age in the audience was about 12!
i do always get a kick out of reminding people who talk about the 60's as this musical golden age that the number one song of '68 was "sugar sugar" by the archies (who went on to become "toto") and in '69 it was "daydream believer" by the monkees. the good stuff from the sixties is what has survived the years. just as in the 20's, 30's and so forth. there was a lot of absolute dreck in the sixties, it just didn't last. i like to play a little game with myself sometimes and try to pick out a current song that will still get airplay a mere five years from now. it is a fun little exercise in spotting good pop. another good clue is to watch and see what happens to the band members when it all goes to hell. if the drummer shrugs his shoulders and goes to work somewhere else (dave grohl didn't miss a step when kurt died), or moves to another band just as hot (navarro jane's addiction/chili peps), you've got a player. and kona, just so you know, the target age for pop and top 40 radio has always been 12. back in the sixties 12 year old girls were the demographic that ruled the charts.
Rock on Neil...it is hard to imagine that we all looked that young at one time.

the closest i've ever been able to get the earl scruggs is that we have banjos made by the same makers. i have "susannah" and he has "john henry." he's the jimi hendrix of the banjo. he picked one up one day and life changed for every other player in the whole world. brad's cool too.
nice double feature.
keep on rocking in the free world (while you still can).
si, mi commandante, mientras que lata y todavía estamos parcialmente libres
